Our love of creating centrepieces is not only how it evokes ambience, conversation and the feels, the perfect centrepiece does so much more: Along with your room styling it tells your guests how much they matter and it elevates the message you are wanting to convey. It should not only style the table but it should style the room, gently filling up void spaces, adding layers and textures, and infusing the room with subtle colour or light. After 25 years of styling gala dinners, these are the guidelines our stylists use.
Choose tall for impact
Don't be afraid to go tall! Firstly take a look at your venue and see how much space there is to fill from the table top to the height of the lowest ceiling fixture. Often there is a lot of empty space so Tall centrepieces, such as our Chime Towers, Crystal Fan Fleurs and candelabras, lift the eye and help fill large ballrooms or grand rooms. To create a point of difference for events 25 tables or more look at creating 2 elements of the same style of centrepiece, or make sure your centrepieces are enough to make the styling interesting. Lastly, if you have site lines to consider make sure there is also a complimenting low centrepiece you can hire.
Best for: ballrooms with high ceilings, round tables of 10 to 12, gala dinners and awards nights.
Choose long and low for connection
Low designs, such as our Crystal Spiral Long and Low and Art Deco lamps, create an old world charm to the event. They suit tables with site line issues, long banquet tables, intimate dinners and rooms with lower ceilings.
Best for: long tables, smaller wedding receptions, awards nights, private dining, boardroom dinners, graduations, formal events.
Mix both
Some of the most striking rooms alternate tall and low pieces across tables. Creating a thoughtful balance without overwhelming the space it works extremely well especially for high capacity events, 50 tables or more.
Finish with light and florals
Candlelight, illuminated lamps and florals soften every design. Many of our pieces are available with faux or fresh floral options in a range of colours to match your theme.
